Job Profile
- Participation in coordinated data collection for the project and own doctoral sub-project.
- Participation in weekly meetings to discuss project findings and materials.
- Participation in project events such as workshops, colloquia and lectures.
- Writing of dissertation.
- Contribution to the joint project book on Xinjiang to be published at the end of the project.
- Writing of articles, op-eds, blog posts (quantity not specified).
- Participation in training courses within the project, especially in the areas of: methodology, ethics, security.
- Presentation of preliminary results and new materials at lectures, panels, conferences.
Requirements
- MA (finished by 10/2026 the latest) in a social sciences or humanities discipline with experience in qualitative research.
- Familiarity with the social and political environments of China or Central Asia.
- Working knowledge of Chinese.
- Excellent knowledge of Kazakh.
