Department of Asian Studies

• Teaching and participation in scientific and research activities
• Preparation and delivery of courses (lectures, seminars)
• Assessing students’ knowledge, evaluating coursework and other students’ outputs
• Supervising and reviewing BA and MA theses
• Providing consultations to students in the relevant field
• Publishing and participating in expert and reviewing activities
• Applying for external research funding and collaborating on obtaining financial support for Japanese studies
• Participation in the admission process

• Ph.D. in a relevant field
• Good teaching record and experience
• Ability to teach general and specialized courses on Japanese literature and to supervise theses
• High-quality and consistent publication record and research activity in the field
• Readiness to develop independent grant activities and to obtain funding for Japanese studies
• Ability to communicate in Czech or English at the level appropriate for the position

• Stable employment at an internationally respected and scientifically and academically highly productive university
